Fall in love with science, as you and your child explore together!
In Growing a Scientist, preschoolers ages 2½ to 5 and their parents or adult caregivers make discoveries about science by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Early childhood educators engage children and their adults in science and engineering activities that incorporate art, literature, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.
Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is required.

- Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.

Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.

Beautiful Bubbles

Experiment with bubble-blowing in a variety of ways, testing bubble wands of different materials and shapes. Make your own bubble blower and use it to make colorful bubble caterpillars.
Is it an Insect?

Watch insects in action, discover how many legs insects have and find out what they eat. Arrange your own insect house for a live insect.
Leaves, Leaves, Leaves!

Sort a variety of leaves and observe them up close. Discover how special leaves are when you examine the colors in a green leaf and enjoy leaf patterns with rubbings and prints.
All About Air

Catch some air and see how it takes up space. Experiment with the power of compressed air and investigate how moving air interacts with objects.
Adventures in Space

3, 2, 1, Blast Off! You’ll also use your imagination to explore the wonders of outer space. Be a young astronaut as you learn about planets, stars, and rockets. Build your own models and discover what makes space so amazing!
Gears, Ramps, and Blocks

Experiment with gears, ramps of different heights, and blocks of different materials. Can you use your engineering skills to build a tall tower, move objects with gears, or roll an object down a ramp?
Color Mix-Up

Watch colors change before your eyes as you mix colored solutions, make secondary colors from primary ones and create artwork to take home.
Rock Stars
WED Dec 3 / THURS Dec 4 / FRI Dec 5 / SAT Dec 6
Examine a variety of rocks and crystals, Use magnifying loupes to make up close observations. Experiment to find if any of the rocks roll or fizz or float. Then make your own rock prints.
