Grow your child’s love for science!
In Science to Grow On™, children make discoveries by questioning, experiencing, and investigating. Explora educators engage children and their adults in age-appropriate activities that incorporate science, art, and fun! Each session focuses on a different theme. Activities change each semester.
Meets every other week for 1½ hours.
Parent or adult caregiver participation is encouraged, but not required.

Registration/Information
- You can register online
- Please have the following available when you register: emergency contact name and phone numbers; name of alternate adults who can pick up the child; child’s medications, dosages, and physician’s name; child’s insurance information, as well as any allergy or special needs information for your child.

Cancellation Policy

If a cancellation is received more than 5 business days before the camp, a refund will be issued for the amount minus a 15% administrative fee.

Cancellations received 5 business days or fewer before the camp will not be refunded.

Full fees will be refunded if Explora cancels a program

Chemistry of Art
Saturday, January 31
Art and science go hand in hand! Explore the chemistry behind your favorite art supplies and experiment with color, texture, and reactions as you create your own science-inspired masterpieces.
Cooking Chemistry
Saturday, February 14
Try out different foods to see which ones have carbs, protein, and fats! Explore the difference between baking soda and baking powder, whip up your own snack, and discover the tasty side of science!
Light Play
Saturday, February 28
Explore light and shadow using LEDs, holiday lights, and flashlights. Make your shadows move to create a colorful recycled art installation. Take home a shadow puppet to continue your experiments.
Meddle with Metals
Saturday, March 14
Curious about metals and how they work? Explore how different kinds of metal conduct, attract magnets, and change when you hammer, stretch, and heat them up. Get ready for some seriously hands-on metal fun!
Propensity of Density
Saturday, March 28
Do all liquids mix together? Examine the nature qualities of a variety of liquids, like salt water, tap water, and lots more. Use test tubes to explore floating and sinking by layering colored liquids.
Science of our Surroundings
Saturday, April 11
Discover the amazing natural resources that make up our planet! Try filtering water, explore how ecosystems work, and create your own mini world to take home.
Simple Circuits
Saturday, April 25
Get ready for some electrifying fun! Try out wires, bulbs, and switches as you build your own circuits and experiment with some hair-raising electricity activities!
Under the Sun
Saturday, May 9
Try out different sunscreens to see which ones block the sun the best! Watch UV beads change color in the sunlight, and make your own photographic image using the power of the sun.
