Say hello to Manchas, our leopard gecko! 🦎
(That means “spots” in Spanish!)
Leopard geckos come from central Asia and are part of a small group of geckos that actually have eyelids — most geckos don’t! Their toes also lack the sticky pads other geckos use to climb, so you won’t catch Manchas scaling smooth walls anytime soon.
These little lizards shed their skin in pieces and even eat it to avoid leaving a trail for predators. They also store fat in their tails, which helps them stay full when food is hard to find.
Be sure to stop by the Animals area during your next visit and say hi to Manchas!
Our Sensory Friendly Time dates for the new year are here!
These evenings are designed for guests who prefer a less sensory-stimulating visit, with limited attendance, reduced noise and light, sensory kits, and a calming space for breaks.
Sensory Friendly Time is 5:30–7:30 pm, included with admission and free for members.
Advance reservations available soon!
All set for Noon Year’s Eve 🎉
