"See! We do the activities that you teach us!" excitedly shared a teacher in northwest NM with the Explora education team.
She shared photos showing how she had implemented ideas with her students from a workshop on seeds and soil she had attended six months earlier, and she was back to learn more STEM activities.
Thanks to support from NMAEYC @nmaeyc and NTEC @navajotec, 65 early childhood educators in the Farmington area spent a Thursday morning using microscopes and magnifying loupes to examine a variety of rocks and discover different ways to sort and categorize them (Do they float? Do they roll? Do they bubble?). They also modeled the rock cycle and deduced a mystery mineral.
