April is Math Month!

Explora offers several ways to have fun with math!

Help create a giant fractal with you visit Explora this month! Color and add your triangle(s) to our ever growing Sierpinski Triangle on Explora’s wall. Watch the triangle grow throughout April.

April 15-21: Each morning, Explora staff will hide eggs throughout Explora and visitors are encouraged to hunt for them to find a math riddle or quiz, and a coupon or treat from Ideas, the Store at Explora! Limit one egg per child, please.

April 21, 2-4pm: Visitors to Explora can try a fun math activity hosted by 12 Months of Math.

  • This month’s activity is Money Math Games: Learn about coin values, making change,  and doing math the fun way…with games! Join 12 Months of Math in Explora’s Experiment Bar to play fun money math games!

April 27, 1-3pm: Join the Financial Literacy Class for kids and adults, offered by Fidelity Investments at Explora!

  • What children know about money at a young age can shape the way they manage money in adulthood. Join Fidelity Investments in an interactive learning day designed to teach kids and families how money works and why financial literacy is an essential life skill. Fidelity Investments associates will present age appropriate activities on earning, spending, saving, and growing money along with interactive finance exhibits.

All activities held at Explora are included with admission.

The Julia Robinson Math Festival originally scheduled for April 13 at UNM’s Student Union Building, has been canceled by the organizers. We apologize for the inconvenience.
