Bring your group to explore our hands-on exhibit activities and to experience our participatory learning opportunities. An Explora educator will facilitate your group’s one- or two-hour visit.
Classroom Explorations are hour-long, experiential programs facilitated by Explora educators. Each program takes an inquiry approach to learning and involves every student in active exploration of physical materials. Our Classroom Explorations are benchmarked to the standards established for relevant grade levels by the New Mexico Public Education Department. A full list of Classroom Programs begins on page 5 of our
Guide to Educational Programs.
These specialized programs take place in the Explora Theater. Most are original plays about famous people, important achievements or science topics. The characters in the plays describe their lives, their work and the times in which they lived. After each play the audience may ask the actors questions and explore the set.
Explora can provide Exhibit Explorations, Classroom Explorations and Outreach Programs in Spanish. Please make your reservation at least three weeks in advance. Click here for a

One adult chaperone is required for every six students. Admission for these chaperones is free. There is an additional charge if Explora is required to provide chaperones for your group. Please notify us in advance if additional chaperones will be needed.
