What Does Explora Offer?

field-trip

Exhibit Explorations

Bring your group to explore our hands-on exhibit activities and to experience our participatory learning opportunities. An Explora educator will facilitate your group’s one- or two-hour visit.

Classroom Explorations

Classroom Explorations are hour-long, experiential programs facilitated by Explora educators. Each program takes an inquiry approach to learning and involves every student in active exploration of physical materials. Our Classroom Explorations are benchmarked to the standards established for relevant grade levels by the New Mexico Public Education Department. A full list of Classroom Programs begins on page 5 of our pdfGuide to Educational Programs.

Educational Theater Programs

These specialized programs take place in the Explora Theater. Most are original plays about famous people, important achievements or science topics. The characters in the plays describe their lives, their work and the times in which they lived. After each play the audience may ask the actors questions and explore the set.

Programs in Spanish

Explora can provide Exhibit Explorations, Classroom Explorations and Outreach Programs in Spanish. Please make your reservation at least three weeks in advance. Click here for a pdfSpanish translation of this Guide to Educational Programs, or call (505) 224-8323.

Basic Information:

Reservations are required for group visits of 9 or more people. Reservations are confirmed only after Explora has received payment. Programs must be reserved and paid for at least two weeks (10 business days) in advance.
