Robo Task Force is an after-school robotics club that offers transactive experiences for 3rd through 7th graders. Join other participants in exploring construction, materials development, electronics principles and robotic systems and design. Returning students can continue to work on projects from previous semesters while participating in these and other activities:

  • Explore systems in motion and animatronics using gears, pulleys and motors, muscle wire and linkage systems.
  • Build a robot arm and more.
  • Investigate electronic systems and sensors with various technologies including microcontrollers and Pico Crickets™. Use light and touch sensors to navigate your mini-robot through a maze.
  • Experiment with the physics of motion! Build a mechanical system like a basic car, tethered plane or ball launcher using wheels, propellers, motors and other materials.
  • Artificial Intelligence—LEGO® Mindstorms™: Have fun programming LEGO® robots to make intelligent decisions as you problem solve challenges like Mission to Mars™ and others.
  • Green Engineering: Find out what makes electronic toys, cell phones, and other electronic devices work. Take them apart and recycle the parts to use in your robot design.
  • Design, build and troubleshoot your own robot. Engineer and test it, add finishing touches and take it home!

Niñas Explorando la Ciencia

(se ofrece en español)

Grades 3 - 8
Mondays 3:30 - 4:45
January 23 – April 30, 2012
12 weeks (No session Feb. 20 and
