Explora has produced a variety of live science theater performances. Explora also hosts performances by other artists in support of offering science-rich learning experiences through performances. Often, there is time after a performance to meet the performers and ask questions.
The Explora Theater has produced full-length plays related to science, ranging from classics like Bertolt Brecht’s Galileo to pieces by contemporary playwrights like David Mamet’s The Water Engine and D. W. Gregory’s Radium Girls.
Other performances have included a world premiere showcase of science comedy, science theater, science storytellers, puppet theater, circus and ballet demonstrations about balance, musicians demonstrating the science of vibration and sound, and more!
Science Play Premier
August 10-13, 2017
She’s back! Science Girl’s Lab will return to Explora with a sequel to last year’s popular science play, Dr. Von Heister’s Hijinks. In the August premier of her new show, Dungeon Dilemma, Science Girl is again enlisting the audience’s help to become science heroes. Be part of the show in this fun, short, live interactive science play. The show runs about 30 minutes, and there is time after the performance to meet Science Girl and ask questions.
Children and adults are welcome. The play is included with Explora admission and free for Explora members.
