Explora Theater produces a variety of live science theater performances and is located on the second floor of Explora. This program promotes science-rich learning experiences for all ages through live theater. School, community and family groups can book an hour-long educational theater program about important people and achievements in science, technology and art.
Famous scientists, explorers, artists and others who have changed our world come alive to talk about their life and work in the Explora Theater’s weekend one-act plays. Performances run about a half-hour and offer visitors an opportunity to ask the performer questions afterward.
The Explora Theater has produced full-length plays related to science, ranging from classics like Bertolt Brecht’s Galileo to pieces by contemporary playwrights like David Mamet’s The Water Engine and D. W. Gregory’s Radium Girls. Other performances have included a world premiere showcase of science comedy, science storytellers, puppet theater, and more!
