Join us at Explora to immerse yourself in a science-rich Classroom Exploration and fulfill required early childhood training hours. Each program takes an inquiry approach to learning and involves every participant in active exploration of physical materials that you can apply immediately in your classroom setting.
Program fees are $20/person per program. Fee includes the classroom program, an opportunity for reflection/discussion with an Explora educator, and a certificate of completion to verify 1.5 competency hours.
You will receive a signed certificate of completion and 1.5 competency hours in any of the following competency areas. You may choose one, or split the time among multiple competencies:

Playing Around with Polymers
Polymers are all around us from balloons to diapers. Find out what a polymer is. Do the properties of polymers change when they're made of different substances? Investigate the properties of this special material by making a number of different polymers and comparing their bounciness, stretchiness and more.
Use microscopes and loupes to examine a variety of rocks. Discover the main types of rocks, model the rock cycle, and perform a series of tests to unearth a mystery mineral. Create your own rock prints and examine crystals.
